Sweetheart Nail Design using Kiss Marbleizing Pens...

I must say that I was completely smitten by the items I received in my Nail Art Society Kit for May!

This was my first kit and I have literally been chomping at the bit to use these a-MAY-zing products!
However, with my big move, my nails were in complete retirement for a week or so, and were looking like a wreck! I spent some time tonight putting on a new set of acrylic nails at home, and then I had to decide how to paint them!

I decided to dig my Nail Art Society kit from the bowels of still-packed boxes for some inspiration and found this beautiful card...

I really love this gradient heart look and decided to give it a go!
I began by painting all of my nails with Milani, White on the Spot, as a base...

Naturally I had to use two coats to make it an opaque white color...

Then I opened the Marbleizing Pens and was amazed!!!!

They come in three gradient colors and they can be used as regular polish with a regular twist off cap, OR you can pop the top cover off and have a very intricate nail art pen....

Consider my mind officially *BLOWN*!!!! :)

I did the gradient heart design on my thumb nails using these pens in no time but decided that I wanted to change the design to make it my own. So I used a sponge applicator to apply all three colors in a gradient on my index and middle fingers...

Then I used the darkest color, my Milani White, and then another layer of the darkest color to create a dark purple heart, outlined by a white base, for an accent nail...

For my pinky, I used the middle purple, to paint my entire pinky nail and then I covered it using Julep's Paris holographic glitter...I also used this gorgeous glitter to accent the heart on my ring fingers!

Once I was done I finished the design off using Seche Vite topcoat...

Not only is this design amazing, I am totally *obsessed* with these Kiss Marbleizing Pens, and I haven't even had a chance to use them for Marbling yet!!!

I must have more of these! I hope they have them in different color schemes or I might cry! :)

Let me know what you think and don't forget to view my YouTube tutorial of this look!!!

Starlooks Starbox May 2013: Tribal Theme

Yay! My new Starlooks Starbox is finally here! This month the theme was tribal, however I did not necessarily see anything "tribal" about the products...

The box came in a funky zebra print and included red tissue paper with a gold accent...

F

First, lets start with the sort of "Beauty Extra" that was sent to us. It was a mini nail file that mimics the black and white tribal print on the card that is included in the box this month.

This is a cute little file that would be great to put in a make-up bag or purse to use on the go...it's so small that it isn't that practical, but it is definitely good for emergencies...

Next of course, is the small quartz crystal that is included in every Starbox.
These are easy to mix when unboxing your products so be careful! :)

Going on to the first full-sized product, the Eyebrow Shader Compact. According to the informational card included in the box,"This compact includes every shade necessary to fill and sculpt the perfect brow for any hair color!"

I used this product in a recent tutorial and I must say that I did like the finished look of my brows, but I feel that it is more work than a simple eyebrow pencil...

Next there was a "Pigment Luster" Eyeshadow in the color Cinnamon Toss. "This highly pigmented powder provides the perfect neutral/golden-brown gleam. Pack it on all over the lid or use sparingly in the crease for an amazing, sultry cinnamon gaze."

The color is very dark and shimmery. It is very pigmented and has a beautiful hue.
A little bit goes a long way...

Finally, the box included a Cream Blusher in the color Emphasize..."This beautiful, creamy rouge for the  cheeks appears dark at first glance, but when applied, you will notice that it adds the ideal, natural hue to any skin tone, with a dewey, moisturizing finish."

All of the products are fantastic but as I mentioned before, I am not entirely sure what is Tribal about them...regardless, I love them all....view my YouTube tutorial where I use all of the Starbox products from April and May in one complete look!

Julep Hooray for May Mystery Box

Hello all! :)

Here is a posting of my Hooray for May! Mystery Box from Julep.

The box costs $24.99 and included 6 polishes.
One packaged to give to a friend, or keep for yourself if you so choose!

First the box came with a card that's reads, "Aren't Surprises Fun?" And as information on where to share your box on Facebook and Instagram...

Each box came with this light blue mesh bag with a "polish for a friend."
I received Coco, which is a dupe from my May maven box that I got just a few weeks ago...
Coco is described as an "Oxblood crème"...

Next I had a large bundle of polishes in a bright green bag!

Within this I had 5 more polishes wrapped in bubble wrap...

I first opened Carrie.
This "classic, cotton candy pink crème" is also a dupe for me from the Cupid's Mystery Box from February...

Those are the only two dupes that I got in my box.

They are both beautiful colors so I can still swap them to get something different...

The next polish is Olivia.
This is described on the Julep website as a "rich and graceful, dark chocolate truffle crème."
I am really looking forward to using this. I hope the formula is opaque.

Next up is Rose. Several people received this color in their Cupid's Mystery Box but I did not and so I am really glad to get this "juicy watermelon red crème."

The

The next polish is Charlie. This is a bright yellow color that is reminiscent of Abbie, also by julep.

The last color is my personal favorite. It is called Charlotte.
This "smokey violet crème" is a beautiful deep purple color that looks bright and cheerful.
I am in love with this shade!

Look at all my beautiful shades!!!! HOORAY FOR MAY!!!
